A Great Start To The New Year !

A Great Start To The New Year !

The Chinese New Year is over, and the weather is amazing !

If you’re not out on your bike, you should change that.  The fireworks are over, so what other potential dangers could there be ?

Most of us at People’s Bike have been out enjoying the weather and the holidays, but are excited to kick back into full gear this week : writing columns, organizing rides, and continuing to promote cycling across China !

As mentioned in our last newsletter, we want to hear your suggestions on what kind of columns you would like to see on People’s Bike.  Is there something you really want to read about ? Let us know by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post !

For now here are some photos of Chris Trees’ latest project : the amazing tricycle.  We were lucky to meet up with him and his son Nelson during their first test ride in Shanghai.

Here’s a photo of the future bamboo framework that will be attached to the frame.  It’s going to be able to hold at least 3 people :

Here are some photos during the test ride, without the attached framework :

And finally, Stephen Yang and myself have teamed up to start doing a collective Rider Portraits series, to accompany the ones already found on the People’s Bike flickr account. We’ll be shooting during the day and night.  Here’s a sample shot of Mattias from one of our test shoots.  Enjoy !

At heart I'm a musician, but I hold a strong passion for all things bicycle related. Moving to China has been one of the greatest adventures of my life, and I'm extremely excited for the future of cycling here in Asia. Poutine, loud music, and riding fast !
