Brooks Alpe D’Huez

We just got our hands on a few of the limited edition Brooks Team Pro Alpe D’Huez. They’re inprinted with a topographic map of the Tour de France’s most loved mountain.

We’ve got the Black and Honey versions. They are the Team Pro model with copper hand-beaten rivets and all the fantastic qualities that make Brooks so good. The Alpe D’Huez is a nice reminder of the days when virtually all the Tour riders had brooks… and it looks awesome too.

Let us know if you’re interested, numbers are extremely limited.

The Right Build

We’ve been busy here at Factory Five. Here’s a sneak peak at the next few builds coming off the production line.

Quite a few have departed the F5 workbench in the last couple months. Each of them has been different. Each of them personal. We take complete or partial input and create something unique, bespoke.

Sometimes people know exactly what they want. Sometimes no idea. We’re used to working anywhere on the scale. The optimum build is a mix of utility and style. Our design phase is a walk through what the bike will be used for, which elements are important and where you want to go. We’ve selected component groups that are complementary to make the process easier.

It may take a fitting or two and that’s fine. Or you have a clear vision in mind and we’ll make it happen. Or start with an example from our workshop, specify all the parts and see what comes out (a popular choice!).

Over the coming weeks we’ll be introducing component groups in more detail.

Together we ride. 9pm we start. Tonight.

We are the night-slicers. The face changers. Valar morghulis. We will lift Shanghai’s haze of love and soak in the dark rays. Tonight we roll the unknown loop. We’ll slip the passageways, the shortcuts, the unknown roads – right under the nose of the city – old and new. Whatever you ride, ride it with us. We welcome all types as long as you’ve one or more wheels and zero or less engines.

Join us. Roll with us. Find the new Shanghai. Tonight.

We gather at Factory Five (876 Jiangsu Lu, nr Huashan) between 20h30 and 21h00. Bring your bike and a helmet. We’ll bring the route and all of Shanghai before you. For an hour or two. Tonight’s will be a loop, returning to somewhere nearby the start for drinks.

We’ll ride unless it’s pouring.

Ride with us Tonight

Last week we were many. Very many. We were like a rolling horde, stopping only briefly to recharge before cruising on over bridges, through tunnels. Alongside water. Tonight, we have a new route, a new slice of Shanghai to experience. We’re heading west. Maybe. To another aisa. Maybe. We’re open to all bikes and expressions of styles from Penny Farthing to NJS.
